Type Locality and Naming
Along the Rukhshif River, Turkestan Range. D.A. Starshinin in 1962 (15, p. 641). Stratotype in the lower reaches of the Rukhshif River, on the right bank, Hypostratotype along the Baykungursay River (N.A. Kozar et al. - Working legend of the KKG map of the Matchinskaya series sheets, 1983).
Synonym: Ruhiiifskaya Suite, Рухшифская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Clayey, sericite-clayey, calcareous slates, interbedded with dark gray flaggy and gray dolomitic and sandy limestones. The rocks are characterized by a pale-yellow color; numerous biostromes and calyptres of cyanobacteria. Thickness 100-290 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The lower contact is unknown
Upper contact
The upper contact is conformable with the terrigenous deposits of the Vardashat Fm of the Ordovician.
Regional extent
North, south slopes, and watershed part of the Turkestan Range, small outcrops in Chumkartau.

Fossils
In limestones, trilobites - Homagnostus sp., Ptychagnostus sp., Solenopleuridae, and others, found in middle-upper Cambrian deposits.
